From a carpenter's cracked hands to a global organic brand
In the mid-1990s, carpenter Bill Whyte's hands would split and crack during harsh New Hampshire winters. One night he mixed up some beeswax and olive oil into a simple herbal balm. It worked so well he started sharing it with everyone he knew, filling tins by hand in his kitchen and selling them out of his work van in homemade wooden boxes. He called it Badger. Thirty years later, that same balm is still at the heart of everything the company makes. Badger is now led by Bill's daughters, Emily and Rebecca, as co-CEOs, and every product is still formulated and manufactured in their own solar-powered facility in rural New Hampshire.

Organic from ingredient to finished tin
Every Badger product starts with organic, minimally processed ingredients still rich in the nutrients that nature intended. The formulas are short (the original balm has just five ingredients), the certifications are among the strongest in the industry, and the facility runs on 100% solar power. Badger doesn't use synthetic chemicals, petroleum, artificial fragrances, or parabens in anything they make. What you see on the ingredient list is what's in the tin, and nothing else.

Sun protection for the whole family
Three mineral sunscreens, one for every member of the family. Each uses non-nano zinc oxide as the sole active ingredient, with no chemical UV filters, no synthetic fragrances, and no ingredients you need to worry about. Reef safe, biodegradable, and made from as few as five organic ingredients. From the beach to the back garden, one brand covers everyone.
