Who are Hallufix?

Hallufix is a German foot care specialist based in Grünwald, near Munich. They have been developing and manufacturing bunion splints and foot care products since 2007, and every product is 100% manufactured and assembled in Germany. The company was founded on a simple idea: that a bunion splint should be wearable during the day as well as at night, and should allow the foot to move naturally rather than holding it in a rigid position. Their patented flexible joint system was the result, and it remains at the core of every Hallufix splint today. Hallufix products are now sold in over 25 countries worldwide, and the brand has won multiple international awards for innovation and quality.

What is the difference between the Classic and the Slim Comfort?

Both splints support the alignment of the big toe using Hallufix's patented flexible joint system, but they differ in size, profile, and fit. The Classic is the original Hallufix splint with the widest size range (UK 1 to 11), a robust construction, and an integrated gel pad and metatarsal support. The Slim Comfort is a slimmer, lighter alternative designed for a lower profile fit inside standard comfort shoes, with a soft inner surface and an open joint design. It's available in Medium size (UK 3 to 8). If maximum size range and built-in gel cushioning are priorities, choose the Classic. If everyday discretion and a lighter feel are more important, choose the Slim Comfort.

Can I wear a Hallufix splint during the day inside shoes?

Yes. This is one of the key features that sets Hallufix apart from traditional rigid night splints. The patented flexible joint system allows the foot's natural rolling movement to be maintained during walking, so the splint can be worn during daily activity inside comfort shoes with a wider forefoot area. The Slim Comfort is specifically designed for an even lower profile fit inside standard footwear. Both splints can also be worn at rest and overnight.

Can the splint be worn on either foot?

Yes. Both the Classic and the Slim Comfort are universal designs that can be worn on either the left or right foot. You do not need to purchase separate left and right splints.

How do I know when to replace the straps and bandages?

The bandages, gel pads, and straps on Hallufix splints are designed for extended use, but over time they will naturally wear from regular use. If the bandages begin to lose elasticity, the gel pad shows signs of wear, or the straps no longer hold their tension, it's time for a replacement. Replacement sets are available for both the Classic (gel side cushion, metatarsal support, and toe bandage) and the Slim Comfort (strap set). Replacing these components extends the life of your splint significantly without needing to purchase a new unit.
