The Bauerfeind GenuTrain P3 is a medical-grade knee brace designed specifically for kneecap-related conditions — including patellofemoral pain syndrome, jumper's knee, chondromalacia, and patellar tracking issues. The "P3" stands for "permanent patella protection," reflecting the brace's specialised role in actively centring the kneecap and preventing the painful lateral drift that drives many chronic knee complaints.

At the core of the design is a specialised patella pad with an integrated corrective strap that can be individually adjusted via Velcro for optimal kneecap control. The upper section of the pad actively stimulates the vastus medialis (teardrop muscle), addressing the muscle imbalance that often causes patellar lateralisation, while a crescent-shaped medial cover prevents the kneecap from tilting during movement.
