The Earthbound Shea Scalp & Body Conditioner is a rich, multi-purpose body butter built around raw, unpurified shea butter hand-extracted by women in West Africa. Because the shea butter hasn't been refined or processed, it retains all of its essential nutrients in their natural state: vitamins E, A, and F, along with the fatty acids that make shea one of the most effective natural moisturisers on earth. Mixed with organic calendula oil and sandalwood essential oil, the result is a deeply nourishing butter that works across the body, the scalp, and even in the bath.For the scalp, massage it into dry, itchy, or flaky areas and leave for 15 minutes or overnight. The shea and calendula soothe irritation and restore moisture to even the most stubborn dry scalp conditions. For the body, there are two ways to use it. The first is as a pre-bath treatment: massage into the skin, then soak in a hot bath while the sandalwood softens and relaxes, creating a luxurious milky bath. Pat dry afterwards and the skin is left conditioned, soft, and moisturised in one step. The second is as a direct body butter for very dry areas, rubbing it in wherever chapping, chafing, or persistent dryness needs attention.Five ingredients, handmade in Wales, and the kind of product that earns a place in every season, from winter dryness to summer sun exposure.

Who are Earthbound?
Earthbound is an organic skincare brand handmade on a Welsh farm by founder Jo Ordoñez. It began in 1996 after Jo and her family spent a year living in a small mountain village in Northern Spain, where she learned to make herbal oils and wax balms from the wild herbs growing around her. She returned to Wales, received support from The Prince's Trust, and built Earthbound from a few homemade creams into the full range it is today. Jo's background is in biology and aromatherapy, and every product is still made by hand in small batches using organic, foraged, and ethically sourced ingredients.
What makes Earthbound different from other organic skincare brands?
The ingredient lists. Most Earthbound products contain between three and six ingredients, and every one of them is something you'd recognise from a kitchen or herb garden. There are no long lists of compounds, no synthetic preservatives, and no fillers. Jo's philosophy is that what goes on your body also goes in, so every ingredient earns its place on genuine merit rather than being added to bulk out a formula. The result is skincare that is remarkably pure and consistently effective.
Are Earthbound products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The simplicity of the formulations makes Earthbound products particularly well suited to sensitive skin. With so few ingredients in each product, there are far fewer potential irritants than in conventional skincare. Several products in the range are specifically formulated for sensitive skin, including the Jojoba & Vitamin E Cream, the Carrot Moisturiser, and the Clear Skin Serum. Are any Earthbound products vegan?
Some are and some aren't. Many Earthbound products contain beeswax or honey, which means they are not vegan. However, several products in the range are fully vegan, including the Hydrate & Rejuvenate Face Gel and the Clear Skin Serum, which are clearly marked with (V) in their product names. Check individual product pages for confirmation.
How should I store Earthbound products?
Because Earthbound products are made without synthetic preservatives, they are best stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. This helps maintain the integrity and potency of the natural ingredients. Most products have a shelf life of around 12 months from opening. If you notice any change in colour, scent, or texture, the product may have passed its best and should be replaced.
